In this 20th century Nurata suzani, the traditional central medallion has been retained, but the floral motifs have been simplified with the elongated, striped capsicum peppers the only recognizable plant forms. The overall feeling is lively and joyful with the flowers dancing and swirling around the central medallion. The stylized peppers in the border help ward off evil spirits. The center panel and surrounding border are framed by narrow chain-stitched decorative borders.
